Since starting my blog, it's been my passion to help teens who are gluten-free. I, myself, got diagnosed with celiac disease when I was just 13 years old so I know what it's like to feel isolated for how I eat. Relating to others my age and doing normal activities as a teen was hard. It's easy to feel like there's no one else out there knows how I feel because very rarely would I run into someone who is gluten-free like me. What do I eat when I'm away from home? What do I do when I'm off to college and don't have my parents to help me anymore? Finally, after all of this time that's where the Gluten Free Teen Summit comes in. Gluten Intolerance Group and GlutenAway have teamed up to put together the first ever gluten-free teen summit and family retreat in Orlando, FL in the Summer of 2018. This will be a great opportunity for teens to meet others just like themselves. But it will also be an opportunity for parents to get educated on many topics that will be important to their son or daughter's future, too. More info at www.gfteensummit.com.

Why this summit is needed and long overdue:
For years, thousands of teens and kids have been getting diagnosed with celiac disease or multiple food allergies. For years, their main resource has been hearing from their parents or looking online. There has never been an in person event geared towards teens and young adults who will be the future of the world. A lot of these teens have no guidance from others their age about this portion of their life. In less than 10 years, many of these teens will be out in the world on their own without the help of their parents near by. That's a scary endeavor and we all go through it. That's why we want to give these teens and their parents the right education to help prepare them for this process. We want teens to know that once they enter the real world, they won't be alone. Being gluten-free does not define them but it's always good to get through this portion of life with a little bit of help from those who have lived it themselves.
We hope that you can join us at this unique event and help us to create the gluten-free leaders of tomorrow! For more information, go to www.gfteensummit.com!
